We are currently running a single MySQL server (CentOS based in Southern California) to support a reasonable amount of data, but we don't have mirrored failover protection and we don't have any kind of load balancing to deal with spikes in traffic (not a problem yet but could be in the future).
The configuration is simple and straightforward at this point, UTF8-based data in normal ISAM tables (this shouldn't matter but, fwiw).
I am looking for someone to take on the task of setting up a second MySQL server and/or to recommend our next phase of configuration growth in getting a mirrored pair of MySQL servers going (our existing MySQL server should be okay to be one of the two, I think we just need to add one so that we have mirrored redundancy and some kind of failover protection).
I will be seeking your experienced advice in setting up these kinds of configurations. I am not a novice in this area at all and will be able to fully evaluate your proposal on technical grounds, but ...
