I'm looking for someone to copy-edit the manuscript of a historical novel for me (c. 130, 000 words). I'm a good writer and have decent self-editing skills, so I don't need developmental/content editing, just pure copy-editing and proofreading. I'd particularly like someone with a feel for punctuating dialogue (most of my experience is in academic writing, so this is something I'm new to), and someone who can help ensure that the language is entirely compatible with U.S. usage (I'm British in origin, though I work in the U.S.), both in terms of spelling-though I hope I've caught most obvious discrepancies there-and idiom, which is harder to catch. The novel is set in the 16th century, so someone with a feel for that period and its language would be ideal, though it's not necessary (I've written in an essentially modern English with some archaic turns of phrase).
