I am using BackupBuddy on my WordPress network to perform backups on a regular basis. However, it constantly reports that HTTP Loopback Connections are not enabled, which is not allowing backups to complete, or even start in some instances. I believe the root of this reason is also interfering with how WP Cron runs, because WP Cron uses a loopback to perform scheduled tasks.
I need someone to troubleshoot and rectify this issue, the correct way and then tell me what the issue is. Enabling alternate cron in WP is not acceptable.
The end results should be that BackupBuddy does not report that HTTP Loopbacks are not enabled (whether or not backups work at that point are another matter, and I will take it up with the developer: that's not your issue), and I can delete the WP Cron Control plugin that I am currently using to make sure that wp-cron.php gets called every 5 minutes to perform scheduled tasks.
