I am looking for design help for a mechanical shelf for homes.
The shelf will be aproximately 0.6m x 0.6m, will weight aprox 2kg and will hold aproximately 5kg when it is extended. It will be hinged and will normally lay retracted - upright and flat against a wall.
There should be a handle to the right side to lower the shelf. The handle (like on a slot machine) should be geared so that no matter how fast or slow it is used, the shelf lowers at the same slow speed (aprox 2-3 seconds from retracted to deployed).
When weight is placed on the shelf a mechanism is tripped so that, when the weight is removed from the shelf, the shelf should slowly retract to the full upright and retracted position AFTER a 2 second delay to make it look more high-tech and smoother. If the weight remains on the shelf longer (e.g. forever), the shelf will not retract on its own.
No prototypes need to be built at this time but quotes should mention if you or your firm can build such. Not a negative if ...
