I'm an American living in Italy (US military), and I'm building a mobile app development company. My wife and I will be the only people running the business, with various pieces of work being operated through eLance (such as code writing, website development, and so on). Would like the option to hire employees (if the business needs dictate).
I *think* I want to incorporate, because it seems to legitimize app sales; buying from a company that sells apps seems more legitimate than buying from a person selling apps.
The first major project is a travel app, the details of which I'm happy to go into one-on-one. I *think* I also want to incorporate to take business deductions on related travel; when I go somewhere, I'd assess feasibility/marketability of travel guides to a particular area.
Guidance I need:
1) Is it even smart to incorporate? More of a headache than it's worth?
2) Can I pick any state (or even country) to incorporate in? I'm a resident, but not citizen, of Italy,...
