I am looking to build a search widget that can reside on third party websites, but search our database. To implement the user would copy a snippet of code on to their web page. This code would produce a search box. When a user enters a search term it would search our database, and land the user on a search results page of our partner's site.
The results page should display fully formatted search results, but the search results (and the search box itself should be able to be sandwiched between our partner's custom header and footer.
Google has similar functionality with their 'custom search'.
1. A user creates and account.
