The objective is a proof of concept for an online photo book editor, similar to those offered by Snapfish, Shutterfly, or MyPublisher. The basic idea is accepting photo uploads, and some limited layout capabilities. This does not need to be full featured. I am only looking for the tool, not the complete website. The features I am specifically looking for include the following: * Photo upload. Images should preferably be converted to thumbnails for manipulation on screen to make manipulation less processor intensive. * Ability to zoom in and out in the workspace. At any zoom level, measurements should be consistent and real measurements in inches or cm, not pixels. * Dragable and resizable objects using bounding box handles. The image should always remain in proportion and fill the frame (meaning, I'd rather have the sides or top and bottom cropped than have letterbox). * Ability to set border width. * Objects can snap to other objects. * Export feature - save the entire workspace to jpeg (using the full files, not the thumbnails shown on screen). I have a couple other specifications regarding snap-to and alignment, for further discussion. I envision this project being done using HTMLS and jQuery tools. There are already libraries for most or all of these functions (for example, see http://alias.io/raphael/free_transform/). However, I am open to different technologies as well, just as Flash or other suggestions you may have. Again, this is only a prototype / proof of concept. I don't need to reinvent the wheel. I encourage the developer to make full use of available libraries and code (however, I will need to be consulted if there is any GPL code in the deliverables). I don't know where this will be hosted, let me know if you have experience with hosting solutions (particularly AWS). Thanks.
