Most of our products allow for administration via web pages hosted by
Apache Tomcat. Normally we use the authentication framework provided
by our platform, but lately customers have been asking for the ability
to manage authentication with Active Directory.
In order to support Active Directory, we need Java classes written
that implement our own UserAccountManager interface, appended below. As
an example, we have also appended our implementation of user
management via the Apache Tomcat container's MemoryRealm user store.
We do not believe any third-party libraries should be required beyond
the Java Enterprise Edition runtimes. In particular, we think you
should be able to use JNDI to access an Active Directory installation.
If you determine that not to be the case, please contact us
immediately so we can discuss it.
We'd like to have something available for us to test by December 21, 2009.
The code you write must compile and run under Java 5.
