I have a CD containing 2.6 Gb of data, specifically 917 images which are a mixture of JPG and TIF. They need to be resized to something much smaller, and in the case of the TIFs also converted to JPG, before we can upload them to a shopping cart website. Somewhere along the way, whether before or after resizing, they need to be 'watermarked' by having the website's URL added to them. Finally, then need to be renamed in accordance with simple instructions that we will provide.
The chances are that the resizing can all be automated using the command line interface of IrfanView or Gimp or similar, together with the watermarking. Note however that the finished size (both pixel width & total Kb) of the image is VERY important, and as I have done a sample manually, I know what to expect. Clearly the automation of the file renaming is a trivial script.
If I had the time to do the research into the automation of the image resizing/watermarking I'd do this myself, because it's clearly not ...
