I've always used MS ACCESS with Cold Fusion in Windows system. I am familiar with databases as well. recently I had to switch my main website database from MS ACCESS to MYSQL. I have no problem with the remote use of it.
But I can't have the website working locally on my system for development purposes. I have downloaded MYSQL 5.5, and I get the DOS prompt. but I don't know what to do after this! and I try to create the ODBC in Cold Fusion admin, for this MYSQL database, and it gives me error.
I need someone connect to my local system and walk me through the steps needed to be done. I don't have tome to go through all the tutorials and documents online. also need to say that I didn't create the MYSQL version, the hosting company converted it from MS ACCESS to MYSQL. that's how I have it.
please let me know if you can help me!
