For this project, we have the following DAQ hardware from National Instruments:
1x NI cDAQ-9188 CompactDAQ 8-Slot Ethernet Chassis
1x NI 9426 32-Channel, 24 V, 7 Ás Sourcing Digital Input Module
We are also using a couple of other Thermocouple Input Modules and Analog Input Modules for things unrelated to this project. We are using LabView Signal Express for logging and everything works fine (altough the person who set it up is no longer available).
We have connected 24 flow sensors with an open collector input. We have 263 pulses per liter, so we can count the 0 and 1 and see how many pulses we have in 1 minute to get to the flow rate.

But since the NI9426 doesn't allow pulse counting, we have to do that manually outside of Signal Express, from a log (we do not require real-time data, although that would be optimal if we could make the choice).
We are now looking to automate the task of logging...
