A lender for the 1st mortgage of my 12-unit property has paid property taxes taxes of $68,000 which were in default. The lender sent me one letter dated, July 3rd in which the lender stated that an escrow account would be established and that I would have to make an additional $5500 monthly payment with my mortgage. The lender then sent another letter dated, July 6, in which the lender stated that I had 3 options to repay the defaulted tax amount.
The options in the July6th letter were as follows (1) Pay the full amount witin 30 days from the date of this letter (2) Set up an escorw account to have the delinquent taxes paid over a 12 month period. (3) Set up an escrow account but have the delinquent taxes advance paid over a 24-36 month period. The lender states that if this 2nd option is selected, then I will need to write a hardship letter and provide rent toll and an operating statement.
