Dear E-Lancers, We're looking for someone to provide us with a comprehensive set of 60 to 80 MCAT style passages with an average of seven associated questions per passage. We would prefer for them to be adapted from real journals and textbooks (as is done on the actual MCAT). Similarity between the language of these passage and those found on the actual MCAT is extremely important. The set of 60 to 80 passages should cover all the scientific topics found on the Physical and Biological sections of the MCAT. Second we would like the E-Lancer to provide two separate analysis of each passage. In the first analysis entitled "Locating the Passage within Your Background Knowledge", the E-Lancer should identify and highlight the key lexical terminology of the passage that should indicate to the student what scientific theories, models, or concepts should be brought to bear upon the passage. Having identified these terms, and having located the passage within the students background knowledge the E-Lancer should in this first analysis briefly explain these lexcical terms, the required background knowledge consisiting of the relavent theories, models, and equations. In this way, through the course of the 60 to 80 passages, all the scientific topics found on the Physical and Biological sections of the MCAT should be covered. The official link to the topics respectively covered on the physical and biological sections can be found here. https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https://www.aamc.org/students/download/345244/data/pstopics.pdf https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https://www.aamc.org/students/download/85566/data/bstopics.pdf In the second analysis entitled, "Using the Necessary Cognitive Skills" the list of cognitive skills listed below should be explicitly demonstrated in fully comprehending and arriving at the full set of logical consequences of the information that is presented in the passage. Once such an analysis is done for the passage itself, the associated questions should be answered in relation to this overall analysis. Information taken from the passage sould be transformed step by step. Each transformation of the informations until the final arrival at the solution should be labeled with a Cognitive Skill. During the course of the 60 to 80 passage all the cognitive skills listed below should be demonstrated at-least once. https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=https://www.aamc.org/students/download/285238/data/phyandbiocogskills.pdf The same set of passages should thus be put under two very distinct processes, a location and an analysis. We would like there to be a clear separation between the two, finally receiving two copies of the same passage set, but with two different commentaries. Taking the passages from the same sources that the actual MCAT writers take from is very important. The MCAT consists of Experimental passages adapted from journals and published papers, informational passages mostly adapted from textbooks, and persuasive passages adapted from various sources. All passages should clearly meet one of the three molds. http://books.google.com/books?id=XqOKlyGh5mkC&pg=RA1-PA30&lpg=RA1-PA30&dq=types+of+mcat+passages+informational+experimental+persuasive&source=bl&ots=PGsKd7-ReQ&sig=q3y28-S4AFrQDDXdDX2Sfxbcyqo&hl=en&sa=X&ei=SZReUpOBGcqU2QWF0YCwCA&ved=0CCwQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=types%20of%20mcat%20passages%20informational%20experimental%20persuasive&f=false Sincerely, Syed p.s. Candidates wishing to break the job into parts will also be considered. Please post what topics and cognitive skills you wish to write about in your bid. However, strong preference will be given to a single writer, or a team of writers.
