I need a macro written for Excel that will parse an entire URL and strip it down to it's root domain and then check to see if this domain is available for registering.
The full, long, ugly, unedited URL will be in column A.
The macro should begin by INSERTING 3 new columns next next to column A: Column B, Column C and Column D. There may be already be data in the columns to the right, so please ensure that the columns are inserted (and the existing data is pushed over to the right). No column headings will be necessary.
The script should then do its "magic" and fill in the columns as follows:
Column B should have the root domain listed. So, for example, if column A has a URL that looks like [obscured] /fdsys/pkg/GPO-PLUMBOOK-2000/content-detail.html?null... then, column B should display only "gpo.com" with no subdomain or subpages.
Column C should have a notification of "Available" in the color green, or "Not Available" in the color red.
Column D should have a CLICKABL...
