Hello web developers - I'm looking for one of you to help me to develop a visually stunning, clean and user friendly website for my existing brand RunwayRoom(.com.au). We will be keeping the list of services we currently offer, but will also be adding an e-commerce section. Basically our current website is pretty ordinary and I am hoping a new website and some other changes can really propel Runway Room to greater heights as a business. Our business is "beauty", "make-up", "photography" and "modelling" so therefore our main target market is young females, who are very style conscious and perceptive. They can smell a fake brand from a mile away. This new website needs to be built with a real creative flair (I believe the little things are important), attention to detail and also with a strong foundation to make it operate smoothly and make it a great user experience for our clients. Does this sound like you? Here is an outline of the main sections of the website and a few ideas/details I have for each section: 1. The Home Page. - One big image of one of our models taking up the entire screen (maybe even a couple of images swapping over). - At the top of the home page (or down the bottom) I'd like 5 of our logos, each in a different color that signify the different services we offer. When people hover over these logos/icons they will spin around, or light up or something similar and then they can click through to the relevant section of the website. - Our logo and a few social media icons that are a perfect fit for the look and feel of our website (maybe these icons are custom styled to look just right). - Below the fold we might have a our contact details and some footer navigation. - This site has a nice feel to it http://www.freepeople.com/ - not exactly what I am after, but it is a style that I like. 2. Content Pages - These pages will be the list of services we offer. - Basically they will just be text (choice of font style is important) and also with an emphasis on stunning images and also some video. - All of our content pages can be the same or very similar. Just need a beautiful clean layout for the text and a fairly large image gallery within the text to display our photos and/or video. The image size could be roughly 350 by 350px and will display without a border - images could fade in and out to showcase more than one image. 3. E-commerce Section - Real emphasis on showcasing our products (makeup) in a visually stunning manner (using our own images and also some video). - Checkout process and user experience is crucial. - I like quirky e-commerce design / UX elements such as "This product goes great with this", or "Add to Must Have", or "Recently Viewed". You know, the little elements that separate a brilliant e-commerce experience from just a good one. - Love the product pages on these sites: http://www.dunelondon.com/, asos.com, http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/ or http://www.marykay.com 4. The Blog - Just looking for a beautiful, clean way to display our blog content which will also be heavy on images and some video. Would love the blog to fit in just right with the look and feel of the other parts of the website. That's a bit of an overview of the scope of this project - still interested? I promise I'll be a good client. I am fairly particular in what I like and don't like, but I'm always fair and am always up for a discussion about what will work best. The developer who works on this project with me will be more like a partner - someone with a similar vision and passion for creating good work. The developer's input will always be welcomed and encouraged throughout all stages and elements of this project. It would also be great if we could have a long-term partnership after we develop and go live with this new website. Hopefully we can build and grow the website, along with the business over the coming months and years. Any questions?
