osCommerce, as we all know, has the “My Account” system pretty deeply entrenched in the checkout process. By default, osCommerce requires you to create an account to complete a purchase.
The Purchase Without Account module was installed to allow customers to choose a “guest” path. The problem here is that PWA actually does create an account, so that it can deal with billing and shipping, and then at the end of checkout, when the customer submits the order, checkout_process.php is supposed to delete the temporary account information. If a customer doesn't complete a purchase, the account gets “hung up” and it prevents CobraHead from manually creating an order because it requires them to log in as the customer and they don't have that information. It's a nightmare, basically.
CobraHead also really dislikes an 8-step checkout process, which is what it currently is. They'd like to condense section to make it a shorter and more intuitive process.
