My project has a few different parts:

1) I need to determine if (and how) I can obtain the rights/permission from companies to use their logo in my booklet (which will effectively be used to promote their products). But these companies have strong brands and might not be open to letting me use their logos for commercial purposes. The logos are owned by beer breweries, but it seems that they have local distributors across the country to manage their brands, create/approve marketing materials etc.

2) if the companies do not allow me to use their logos, could I instead use images or photos of their product that I take? example would be if Budweiser didn't grant me permission to use their logo, could I instead take a photo of a Budweiser bottle cap?

3) If I can figure out how to get around that first hurdle of using the beer logos, I will want guidance on what IP protection makes the most sense for my new company:

a) I suppose I would copyright the booklet concept & desig...
