I recently designed a countertop display that has a mirror attached. (SolidWorks) I am looking to get some help modifying the design so it can be easily and efficiently injection molded out of ABS. I am on a tight budget, but here is what I am looking for:
-Modify the display for injection molding and simple assembly
-Minimize the number of molds required - combine parts where possible
-Optimize wall thicknesses and material required (core out)...for example .25" to .125"
-Incorporate ribs where required
-Add snap fits for joining parts that can't be molded in 1 piece (single & double boxes, use snap fits instead of door magnets, etc.)
-Provide simple hinge design for both side doors
-Mold photo panel in 1 piece (no separate pins)
-Make provisions for adding threaded inserts or ultrasonic welding (i.e. attaching main cover to display base, the cover for double box cover, etc.)
The mirror and 2 vertical posts / grippers can be ignored since they are not being injection...
