We recently started a company selling a food product direct to consumers online. Our company is only a few weeks old and have had tremendous success so far. We no longer can keep up with the volume of our orders and are looking to have our product manufactured ASAP. I would prefer not to reveal too much about our company but you can use this company ( [obscured] /) as a good point of reference for what we do.
Our main concern is taking our product to a manufacturer and having them rip it off and sell it themselves. What is the best way to protect our products and our brand while having a manufacturer or copacker produce our product for us? Can this be taken care of with just a non-compete agreement and non-disclosure agreement or do we need more?
