We have a device that outputs a continuous loop RS-232 Serial Data Stream that we want to display on a LCD.
We have an embedded ARM computer (SBC2410-III) with 3.5" LCD display. It shipped with both a Windows CE 5.0 BSP and Linux 2.6 OS and a CD with the supporting OS files. We are not married to this device.
We need a simple front end program to display several data fields in a large font characters on the 3.5" LCD so they are easily readable.
Attached is a .JPG showing how we want the data displayed (doesn't have to be an exact match).
This display program needs to work without any user input. So upon power up the SBC2440 needs to be set to autoboot to this program. We would prefer to have the software on a SD card (so we can provide feature updates later).
Initially we only need a few data points from the Serial stream:
Pack total voltage
Maximum Cell Voltage
Minimum Cell Voltage
We would also like a colored visual alarm if the voltage range gets to high or low. ...
