Here's what I need:
1. Update server software -
a) Regular apt-get updates
When I login via putty, I see:
99 packages can be updated.
82 updates are security updates.
New release 'precise' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.
A newer build of the Ubuntu lucid server image is available.
It is named 'release' and has build serial '20120913'.
b) Latest PHP, nginx stable, mysql, monit, munin*
*HOWEVER- as you pointed out, the munin packages are for later versions of Ubuntu, and I imagine that will continue to happen for the other tools as well, so should we just upgrade Ubuntu altogether? Is that a lot of work? Would it be easier to just upgrade this server instance OR create a new EC2 instance using a recent Amazon AMI with the latest Ubuntu server, rebuild the web server stack there and migrate the content?
