I run the website SaleCamel.com which is an online shopping search engine. The issue I am looking to solve is to greatly improve search relevancy. I currently use mysql full text searches but I'm thinking a solution would be to implement Sphinx ( [obscured] /). Assuming this is the right approach I'm looking for an expert to help me with this process.
Specifically I can identify searches where relevancy is poor. Here is an example. "Burton Snowboards". For someone searching that text they are clearly interested in snowboards but end up seeing lots of results for jackets, boots, mitts, etc. Snowboards themselves are not given the proper relevancy. Can we fix this?
