The University Budget Office at Stanford University keeps track of many funding commitments made by the President & Provost for initiatives across the academic enterprise.
There is a project proposed to create a Microsoft Access database application, with appropriate security, to assist the office in tracking these commitments and automatically creating accounting entries to fund the commitments.
The proposed Microsoft Access database application will have four main areas of functions.
Entering new multi-year commitments
Searching past, present and future commitments
Producing analytical reports
Exporting and importing data
In addition, the database will be embedded with a reference module. In this module, all the database fields are backed-up with references, including lists of fiscal years, sources of funding and PTA(s), recipient units, and a faculty salary table.
