This is a design project for automotive headlight assembly jigs (See example jig pictures in attachment). These jigs will be used in robotic assembly modules where screws will be inserted into the customer's parts. The designer will be responsible for designing the entire jig per customer specifications and deliver a complete drawing package and BOM from which the jigs can be fabricated. Right and Left hand versions of the jig are required, so careful attention is required when considering symmetry issues. The designer will need to be familiar with working with surfaces in Autodesk Inventor for the creation of part nests. The designer may also be required to specify various Keyence sensors (part detection), and SMC pneumatic cylinders (part clamping). Key considerations for designing: easy loading of parts into jig (use lead-ins on nests), support all areas underneath screw bosses, simple / minimalist nesting, protect the part from damage by covering exposed sensors, clamps, etc. Pe...
