1. read Fletcher-Louis (1997), and reflect more on the social and institutional reasons that Jesus did not embrace, cart blanche, the Torah-intensification of the Pharisees. Both shared the same piety, a love for the God of Israel, but they saw different means to bring about covenantal restoration.
