Have a property settlement in semi-final draft form - working with a mediator who is an attorney. Spouse is asking for an amount from 401K and a transfer of my business ownership. He is not asking for anything related to an inheritance of an LLC which does have annual disbursements. (Money from that source HAS been co-mingled in the past). The house has been sold and arrangements for distribution of that money are in the settlement. There are several businesses involved but that part, I believe, is surprisingly straight forward - however, - am I - or is he - fooling me? The process with spouse is (relatively) civil. I need to know what tax implications I may have. I am asking for a tax attorney to review the settlement document. I can provide any related materials needed. Would like this done within 5 days.
I believe I need a tax attorney from the US/very knowledgable about specifics of US tax. This is related to state of Oregon -so relates to IRS and state of Oregon.
