I just received my new MakerBot Replicator 3D printer, which converts *.stl files into actual 3D objects made of ABS plastic. See the link below for more information.

I am looking for someone who knows how to create and modify 3D objects to teach me how to make basic modifications to an existing stl file using freely available software. Right now I am using Sketchup but I can download and install other programs if recommended. You would need to set-up a webconferencing session wherein you share your desktop and demonstrate in real-time how to make the modifications I am interested in. I will join the webconference so I can follow along and watch how you do it.

For starters, I'd simply like to modify the attached file by adding text which is either raised (protruding) or inset. I'd expect someone could teach me how to do this in 30 minutes or less. I will need to learn other features in the future and I would look to schedule separate webconferencing sessions for those.
