Job description:

Our client is an educational non-profit. They employ a web-based CMS with a TinyMCE editor for content editing. The XHTML generated from this editor is imported for other uses in a DocBook format using an internally-developed script.

Although the TinyMCE-generated XHTML is valid, under certain circumstances (e.g., special characters or changing paragraph formatting styles), the generated XHTML includes additional XHTML tags that create a parsing problem when the generated DocBook format is expected by other applications -- such as when printing the content, etc. Removing these extraneous tags resolves any problem.

We need to ensure our TinyMCE installation (v 3.1.x) generates the proper XHTML for successful DocBook conversion under a few different use cases. (At a minimum, it should at least validate and detect any non-DocBook-compliant XHTML generated by TinyMCE.)
