We are developing a PC board that includes an NXP SLRC610 (Contactless reader IC). It is a 13.56-MHz RFID Transceiver, which we will use to implement the ISO 15693 protocol. (We could also use the NXP CLRC663, which is very similar but which supports more protocols.)
We would like to read an RFID tag over a relatively long range, so we need a maximum output power of 1 Watt into the RFID coil.
We will be powering the board from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, with a nominal output voltage of 3.6 volts. We would like to use a 160 mAh battery, but we could use a larger battery, if necessary. The output antenna will be a coil wrapped around a ferrite core, matched to ~50 ohms.
We would like the power amp circuitry to be relatively compact, as the device will be portable. We have previously used a Class E power amplifier for this design, but we are open to other ideas.
For this work, you will provide a schematic for a 1Watt power amplifier that will be driven by the NXP SLRC610....
