I am looking for someone to help build an app for learning Japanese in Windows 8 (RT and Pro).
This will most likely involve the ink API since the user will be asked to draw Japanese characters on screen or via a tablet such as the Wacom.
It will involve pulling data from 3 different open-source projects:
KanjiVG - which contains Japanese characters in SVG format. Note - the characters are SVG, but all code samples are Python.
Tatoeba - a database of example sentences spoken in Japanese (csv format)
And EDICT, a Japanese dictionary file.
I will be responsible for creating the interface graphics, buttons, logos, etc. As well as the general concept and functionality of the app.
The general concept is this - the user will be presented with Japanese characters. Will practice writing them in the correct stroke order, by tracing them on screen.
