This project aims to obtain the average time of possession for each NBA time thus far in the 2013-2014 season. While this statistic is not readily available online, it can be calculated by analyzing the play by play data for each game. I have begun the project however have hit a wall and have not been able to complete it. I would be happy to share my code thus far, or if the freelancer prefers they can write the code from scratch. Requirements 1) The code must by written in R 2) The freelancer must have a basic knowledge of basketball to be able to decipher what indicates a change of possession. (Further detail will be given once a freelancer is selected) 3) The program must be able to read through data such as the play by play table from this page: http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=400489663 and output the average time of possession for the game.(Example: Brooklyn-15.22 seconds) 4) The program must be written to scrape through the same table on multiple pages(IE every single game thus far this season)
