joomla to shopify migration (?)
hi, this isn't quite a job yet, but stupid elance forces you to open a hire just in order to contact a freelancer...
anyway, my mom has a Joomla ecommerce site. it was done by an Israeli company who took a lot of money off her and gave very little in return - it's not responsive, not SEO optimized in any way, and Joomla is for designers and developers, not for non-tech people. i'm a marketer (mobile) and usually very busy but i want to help her, so i'm wondering about a few things (these geezers now want another 1000$ just to make it responsive...)
1) she has a good few hundred items - will it be possible to bulk upload including images?
2) is Shopify a good platform considering i would like her to optimise for SEO including blog writing and instructional vids (she's a jewler - the competition for content is quite small here, i think with a little bit of work she can rank very high)
3) would it work well with Hebrew and English combined (right to left, left to right)
4) is it possible to add HTML code which is not a Shopify official app? for example, if i want to add some email list creator like Sumo.Me (few lines of code) - is it possible?
so in summary - i'd like to release her from the strangle hold of these guys - to a system which is easier to manage for non-tech people, more friendly, responsive-out-of-the-box and has many apps which can be easily added without paying another 70$ per hour of programming, and i'm looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable and smart to help us with it since i have very limited time to dive into details.
let me know if this is interesting - i saw you are looking for small to medium projects for some Uni cash - i think this can be a great fit.
would love to hear from you,
