POWER WHEELCHAIR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
We are have recently completed our first power wheelchair prototype using direct drive brushless and gearless motors however during initial testing we have discovered that direct drive is not powerful or safe enough for our needs, and as well as this we are looking at other improvements before we begin our second prototype.
What we need now is mechanical engineering expertise to help us with our motor selection and frame redesign.
We have already sent off requirements to motor companies and we have a CAD designer who designs our frame but before we start fabricating and buying parts again we are looking for a mechanical engineering expert to check things for us so we get it right this time. Mainly things like torques, loads on motors, loads on the frame, weak points, centre of gravity and balancing.
