I am looking for a consultant to provide education of the following:
On architecture of a large capacity SAAS site.
Servers. Cores. Database. Load balancing. Etc.
A diagram or two and a phone call or two.
I need to see what is involved, hardware and software, for a very high volume website.
In a Microsoft environment and or on Amazon's hosting environment.
This is going to be a Software As A Service application.
200,000 users could be signed in at once accessing 800,000 patient records in a database.
I want to see a small and large diagram.
Small diagram shows a typical hosted server.
The large diagram shows that is needed with load balancing, database server, content delivery, etc.
I am NOT concerned about the raised floor or server cooling or uninterpretable power supply or battery bank or fire control system.
Cabling costs or systems are also NOT of concern.
HTML5 - 99% text.
I do want to know what the hardware will take -- and eventually what fault-tolerant fail over to another geography will require, to provide low-latency for a heavy user, text, NO-video/NO-images, 99% HTML5, text data transmission website.
Key question 1
What does the basic architecture look like. Servers. Cores. Backup. Interactions between systems. Etc.
Key Question 2
Does this work with Amazon EC2 and AWS? Or Rackspace's offering, etc.
What is the baseline code or process, that creates a sort of watchdog timer, that is pinging three other geographic centers, where I am running the SAAS app for users, and if one misses and 'I'm Alive' message over some interval of retry, what is the switch over process from zone A to back up B or is this a so-called automatic process from Amazon or Rackspace or someone else I should consider.
