Write a email newsletter (focus on UX + Data)
Hello! We're looking for a fantastic writer who can take on writing a email newsletter for our company, Conjure (www.conjurehq.com). Hopefully, we'll be working with you in the future to write additional newsletters for us as well.
+ 300-500 words
+ I'd love to see you follow your best instincts on style for this.
WHAT DOES CONJURE DO
Conjure develops web and mobile apps.
We specialize in making data really easy to work with, ie "Data and UX".
We work with companies that have tons of data, and help them make a great UX in it. Often that means transforming the data into something recognizable and natural for people to work with, and taking advantage of the natural data-processing skills people have.
Data scientists and high tech firms like working with us because we speak their language, and help make their work universally accessible and easy to understand.
Often our work involves visualization, we do a lot of coding, and we work crazy fast with rapid prototypes to get in the hands of users to see how they react to it.
We also do a lot of training, and our staff is really involved with the education world.
PURPOSE OF THE NEWSLETTER
Mostly to stay top-of-mind with past clients and contacts. If they have a design or development job that involves marrying gobs of data with great UX, we want to be top of mind!
THEMES THAT MUST BE IN THE NEWSLETTER
+ We'd love to promote our clients! We're proud of what we've done for them, and its just an all around win-win to show that work off. In the newsletter your write, please note that our awesome client Zoomdata (we do all of the UX work for their app) will be at SXSW next week, and they should check them out. For more info on them, go to www.zoomdata.com
+ Upcoming events we're doing. The CEO of our company is running a "UX and Data" Meetup next week, http://www.meetup.com/UX-Data/ and is also teaching "Advanced UX" at NYU http://www.scps.nyu.edu/content/scps/academics/course_detail.html?id=UXDX1-CE9140
OTHER THEMES YOU MAY WANT TO INCLUDE
+ Links and summaries to interesting articles on human perception or usability research! If there is any great new scholarly research on visual perception (or even rediscovering some classic thing), it would be a great find.
+ Companies doing interesting things, either with UX or Data (preferably both) would be great! We love what we do, and we get excited by our peers, and are happy to tout them. Example: I just came across peatix.com a couple of days ago. Great stuff! See the video of the product here: http://about.peatix.com/colorsync.html?hl=en It is a great example of an interface that allows people to process tons of information
+ New and unique research. If you have a great idea, we could run with it! E.g., what happens if we run a usability test on a popular app? What if we made a prototype to solve something topical in the news? etc.
Product managers, Data Scientists, UX Designers, Developers, CIOs, CTOs, CEOs, startup-to-medium sized businesses (with an occasional fortune 500). Typically tech, media, finance, consumer companies.
