Elance Launches 'Startup Cloud'Elance_Keith | Mar 29, 2011
We are very excited to announce Startup Cloud, a new web resource that provides proven tactics, best practice strategies and advice to startups and their entrepreneurs as they tap into the human cloud.
We referenced on our blog last week a recent study where the Kauffman Foundation found that entrepreneurs are building startup companies at the highest rate in 15 years, and they are choosing to go into business alone instead of hiring employees. As a result, entrepreneurs, instead of seeking permanent employees, have turned to Elance to cost-effectively hire online talent to execute their business vision.
Startup Cloud will offer best practices for entrepreneurs in the pre-launch startup phase, as well as those seeking ongoing hiring needs as the company matures and grows. By sharing personal stories from those who have seen success already, startup founders will hear from other business owners on how to effectively scale their staffing to achieve the best results.
As part of the Startup Cloud program, Elance is partnering with The Founder Institute to help entrepreneurs find the best talent to build their dream companies. Elance will also be giving away three Startup Kits, which include $500 in Elance services, to get businesses started building their online teams.
In April, May and June 2011, one winner will be awarded a $500 credit for Elance services that can be applied toward anything from designing a business logo to building a new website or mobile app. Contestants are asked to submit an entry stating how they will use an Elance professional to help build their business. To enter the contest, please visit this page.
