Elance Rubs Elbows with Entrepreneurs in the Big Apple.

The Elance team rolled into Manhattan last week, rolling-up our sleeves to help businesses find great freelancers. It was a wonderful experience, meeting and greeting small business owners among the 13,000+ who attended the New York Business Expo & Convention. The weather was fantastic, we got to chat at length with friends old and new, and no luggage was lost in transit.

During Wednesday’s show thousands of eager entrepreneurs streamed through our booth, learning more about Elance and giving us a chance to learn more about them. We also chatted with the many attendees who joined us for an Elance-sponsored workshop, where we presented on competing with the big boys and featured an Elance client and his real-world views on today’s online workforce.

A huge thank you to everyone who dropped by to talk. It was great hearing first-hand what’s on people’s minds, and how Elance can best serve your need for talented freelancers. We’re already huddling and thinking of ways to put this knowledge to work for you.

For those who couldn’t make it to New York, hopefully we’ll soon come to a location near you. There is no substitute for good old-fashioned one-on-one interaction. Plus at Elance we’re all card-carrying foodies, and we love, love, love to sample your regional cuisines. Yumm, see you soon.

We’re just now beginning to realize the horrific damage Sandy has brought to America’s Northeast Corridor. An estimated 6 million people are still without power, as well as countless destruction to homes, businesses and infrastructure people count on in their daily lives. Our thoughts are with everyone on the East Coast as they struggle with this difficult situation.

I am thrilled to have to visit your site. This is the real employment solver for young and older generations. My son trained as a earonotic engineer now studying CISCO networking now I know where and how he can get begging. I would like him to open an ELance chapter in Zambia. I am sure there are lots of bright sons and daughers that can work positively earning a decent income as they wade through life. Any ideas how one gets to be the Elancee rep or anybody I can link my son to open this business here in Zambia?
