Help Celebrate Our Two Millionth Freelancer With Free Training at Lynda.com.

Thanks a million. Thanks two million actually, and counting. That’s the number of registered freelancers we’ve now reached here at Elance. Woo-hoo, two million!

Two million is a historic milestone we couldn’t have achieved without your support and the support of our entire community. To thank you we’ve arranged for a celebratory gift: Free online skills training at Lynda.com for all registered Elancers. It’s our small way of giving back, by helping you further reach your career goals.

If you’re unfamiliar, Lynda is the shining star of video training with 1500+ courses and 84,000+ tutorials. You’re sure to find some awesome materials to help you brush up on current skills or explore new areas. Lynda has tutorials on every skill from web design and development (like PHP and HTML 5) to audio/video, graphic design, accounting and photography. To get started, simply sign up through January 31, 2013 and enjoy an exclusive (and free) 30-day trial Elance has arranged with Lynda. Here’s how:

  1. Make sure you’re signed into Elance
  2. Visit the Special Offers page under the Resources tab
  3. Click on the Lynda.com link, register and start expanding your repertoire

With this exclusive trial membership, you'll be able to access the full Lynda experience at no charge during the trial period, and you're free to end the the trial at anytime through the website.

Thanks again for making Elance two million strong. To put this ginormous number in perspective, if our freelancers were a city it would be the fifth largest metropolitan area in the U.S. (right between Houston and Philadelphia – though hopefully not geographically, as that would put our freelancers squarely on top of Nashville). And if you’re really, really into numbers, 2 million is also the approximate number of characters in Leo Tolstoy’s 1,400 page classic War and Peace (not fictional characters, like Natasha and Pierre – but font characters). Oh, two million is also the size of our To-Do List to make sure we reach three million freelancers ASAP. But that’s a whole different blog topic, at a different time. Now is the time to celebrate our success together. Gracias.

Congratulations Elance team... :)

How about members who have already got an account on Lynda.com, but the trial period expired and have no paid subscription ?

Best of luck o Elance

Thanks Elance.....

Thanks Elance and Lynda.com...

Thanks Elance.

Congratulations Elance! and thank you!

Great effort. Congrats Elance!

Congratulations, Elance! And "Thanks" to you and Lynda.com for setting up this deal for us. Lynda.com's instructors are top notch and they make learning the most technical things easy, fun, and practically effortless. I had a subscription with a competitor for a while, but they never kept up with the latest technology and some of their presenters were unprofessional, condescending, or on occasion, rather arrogant. Can't wait to experience more than just the lead-in free videos I happened to watch on Lynda.com a few months ago!

That's really neat! Thanks!

Thanks Elance & Lynda. We expect it to grow more

That's really great opportunity to have Lynda.com tutorials, thanks both of them.
