How much does Elance cost?

It’s free to join, post jobs, and see your candidates on Elance. We add an 8.75% fee to your freelancer’s bid. You see and pay this price only, when you approve work.

Are there additional charges?

No. You can choose to “Feature” your job for $25 for maximum exposure.

How much does Elance cost?

It’s free to join Elance and submit job proposals to clients. We add an 8.75% service fee to the price you quote for a job. When your client pays you, we deduct the fee and pass the rest on to you.

Are there additional charges?

No. We have different memberships you can choose to purchase. This includes our Premium Memberships.

There are a few ways: 1. Use our Search to find jobs that match your expertise, 2. View jobs we’ve recommended (after we’ve analyzing your skills and the needs of clients posting jobs), and 3. Keep an eye out for invitations sent to you by hiring clients.

When you see a job you like, fill out a brief job proposal form. You’ll describe why you’re uniquely qualified, how you’ll approach the work and how much you’ll charge. When you click submit, the client reviews your proposal and contacts you with further details.

You get paid through your Elance account. Client payments are deposited into your Elance account, allowing you to make withdrawals right away. You’re in control of when and how often you get paid. For fixed price jobs, you and your client will agree on payment dates. For hourly jobs, you’ll get paid each week when you use Elance’s Tracker tool.

All jobs on Elance are independent freelance jobs. You work for yourself, not for Elance or for the client posting the job. By working here, you are your own boss, setting the number of hours you work each week.
