I would like to put together a business case for bringing a full time customs broker on staff. The job is to help me pull together the costs (people, software, bonding, others?) that would be required to do that work internally. We currently bring 3,000 containers from 10 countries into the US. Since we started the business we have always used a customs broker. We are CT-PAT Level II (I believe) certified and have never had a CBP problem.
