We have a spinning display (prototype) which has a 7" display, motor to spin our product and using an Olimex board to run the video / audio. We have successfully prototyped this and now, we need a freelancer to optimize this design and prepare it for manufacturing as the cost is too high using the Olimex board and the associated 7" LCD/controller board. We are using a standard microwave oven motor to independently spin our product and this is directly connected to a switch and powered directly to an AC power source. The motor turns 360 degrees and then automatically reverses since we have created a mechanical stop. The way the unit will function is as follows: 1) User will turn on a power switch located on the bottom of the display 2) Display will provide power to the motor which will start spinning and simultenously power the microcontroller board to run the OS (i.e. Linus/Android). 3) OS will initiate and the user will see a splash screen which will allow them to e...

This is to hopefully find and start conversations with the right company/individual. We are looking for a firmware person to join our team for a security based project based upon a Zigbee mesh network. Experience in this type of topography required (including pairing, encryption, fail safe messaging, etc.). Also experience in Sharp's memory LCD (2.7") and either custom fonts or Ramtex icon and font package. Our current processor is a Microchip PIC8, which we need to upgrade to either a PIC16 (with enough RAM support to buffer display in memory) or switching all together to an ARM processor (which we would then need to scrap any code written so far). We are open to either a standard work for hire contract, or even possibly an equity/full time position with our company in Wisconsin or Remote. We are really looking to build a solid team of individuals as we launch this project over the next 6 months.

I need to have a Texas Intruments CC2531 Zigbee dongle (USB connection) configured to work with a Beaglebone Black development board running Linux. Drivers for the CC2531 are available for download on the Texas Instruments website. Once set up the proof of working must be turning on and off a supplied Zigbee enabled LED light bulb by means of one of the buttons on-board the Beaglebone. I would supply the Beaglebone Black, CC2531 dongle, Zigbee LED bulb and Texas Instruments CC Debugger. You provide a simple written outline of the steps that were taken for the setup. Please estimate how many hours this will take. Thank you.

Hi, My name is Sardorjon, I have been thinking about an idea of creating a regular size pen with HD camera inside that can take pictures and send it to the connected cell phone through Bluetooth. The pen would have a button for taking pictures and another button for turn on/off. Taken pictures would be transferred to cell phone automatically and stored in phone's memory. I am willing to fund this project and make it ready till the end of this year. Thank you!

This is a small project to design an ultrasonic range finder using a single transducer. I would like to find a designer who's willing to not only play the role of a designer, but also spend some of the billed hours explaining the design to me in Skype video sessions. The main priority is to design the schematic, implement the circuit on a breadboard and test it. The second priority is to design a PCB and going through manufacturing and assembly. DESIGN REQUIREMENTS - The circuit MUST use a single transducer to both transmit and receive ultrasonic pulse train. - The transducer MUST still be able to function function after being in contact with water, but operating under water is NOT a requirement. - It MUST be possible to fit the transducer in an enclosure such a way that water cannot enter the enclosure. - The range finder MUST have a range of 10cm - 2m. - After each measurement cycle the circuit MUST be put in sleep mode in which power consumption is negligible. I hope we can wor...

Hey there, Looking for someone to assist in a two phase project for a re-design of a manufacturing line commodity bin. Objective #1, incremental improvement. Objective #2 breakthrough improvement. It's not the sexiest product currently on the market but it's widely used by most of the largest global companies and end users are begging to see something different. If you are interested in learning more, let me know. Thanks, JL

Hi there, We run a science enrichment program and in the course of our work we have developed numerous toys that we use in our program. We know the kids (our clients) like them because when the toys break the children come back and ask us to fix them. We have also sold some kits that we put together. We are looking for someone to help us take these projects that we have developed in-house and turn them into products. We are looking for someone interested in working with simple materials, has some experience with electronics and likes to think out of the box. Some of our projects are made of cardboard, paper and so an interest in folding and working with cardboard is desired. We need to solve some design issues in taking this to market. We are interested in simple clean design. We have a web site with some samples of our work and will share information with interested designers.

The screen size is from 8-11" inches big and it will have a capacitive or resistive touchscreen to be used with a pen. Resolution does not need to be high. And grayscale or simply black and white is enough. The finger and hands of the user will not have any effect on the screen. By using the pen we can draw on the screen. The pen should be adequate to the type of touchscreen (capacitive or resistive) The drawings on the screen will stay for as long as possible by means of a small battery so count on 1mAh or so but we can go higher for an initial stage. I depends on the whole system consumption so try to choose low power components. There will be a reset button and when pressed the screen is cleaned and all info is erased. Before erasing the screen the information should be stored in memory. A second button will be used to show the stored drawing in memory back on the screen. Any subsequent reset will overwrite the memory info with the info on the screen at the time the button...
