As a provider of field agronomy and scouting by contract our company would like to research the potential to scout 10 x more fields (acres) 10 x faster. scouting currently consists of : driving out to the field , cost , mileage, personnel time, quad runners etc the cost of monitoring fields is approximately 5 to 9 dollars per acre. If we could apply remote sensor technology to this process the sensors would be required to track: temperature, humidity, growing degree days, heat units to date, soil temperature, soil moisture etc the sensors would also have to be remote cameras that could replace the eyes of the person now doing the field scouting. the sensors or cameras would identify various insects and disease pathogens as or during their early development. the cameras would also be required to identify weeds in the crop. insects identified could be ground crawlers, or flying insects. daily if not hourly reporting or even real time monitoring would be necessary. to do a good jo...
