Our small business has decided to bring some independent contractors in as employees. We'd like them to be treated in much the same way as regular independent contractors. We pay based on billable hours only. We use time of in lieu of overtime (is this appropriate?) What options do we have? We do not pay vacation/holidays. We expect them to be able to continue to work as they wish, but do not want to be required to keep them as employees if they stop providing any work for us. Obviously we are not lawyers, and we expect you to know best. We would expect a non-compete, non-disclosure, and a don't steal our other employees section. While the majority of those working for us are based in Arizona, we'd like this contract to work with all states. We would expect this lawyer to be currently licensed and in good standing.

Hi, I'm looking for a licensed private investigator to do research for me on an ongoing basis. I receive reports as part of my job from people who complain about receiving unsolicited calls from telemarketers and want them stopped. This job would be to do research on these phone numbers, to use resources to track down the owners of the phone numbers, and also to call the phone numbers when possible and play along with these telemarketers so that they can track down the actual companies behind these telemarketing calls. This would be an ongoing job of around 6 hrs per week for someone who is really good at tracking down these telemarketers. I'm looking for someone who is available to work on the phone # I report almost immediately.

Need case law REF that addresses where a settlement agreement (in this case approved by a NJ state ALJ) Violates a federal law. Not looking for extensive research to support litigation at this point... Only need some legal references to justify an investigation. Example: Let's say... a school district settles a due process lawsuit by offering to perform an independent evaluation - with only one contingency - that the parents agree to use the examiner that the school recommends. Parents agreed and evaluation was performed and a report generated identifying it as an "independent education evaluation." While the Judge approves it, he does not sign the agreement - and Judge opts not to 'go on the record' stating that the hand written settlement agreement is enough. Turns out that this specific examiner is employed by the school district and according to federal law (IDEA, 2004) - an independent evaluation is defined as an eval performed by a qualified examiner that is not empl...

We are looking for a legal team - person that would be able to work on various projects, cases in USA and Australia. Some of the work would be contracts, litigation's, checking legal weaknesses, protecting our divisions with legal terminologies, making sure our marketing materials legally correct, etc. When it comes to litigation's, we would be looking to have a system that most documentation, letters, filings, etc would be done on behalf of CEO and only when necessary to be filled by a separate attorney (which CEO would be happy to engage). So in short words, we are looking for a legal team that would be able to work on various projects in the background and make sure all projects are creatively executed and everything managed well. Note: This is a long term goal.

Hi I have 2 negative items in my credit report 1) a collections item for $92. This is paid off. This happened in Dec 2014 2) A IRS tax lein. This is also paid off. This is from 2008. My credit displays they are "not paid". I would like that changed to "paid" Also, if possible, I would like to get them removed. I have documents that state that the $92 and the IRS tax was paid in full. - Vince

Hello, I need legal advice for a startup idea that I am developing. Require a simple consultation with someone knowledgeable in the field of debt collection. Your legal expertise: debt collection, debt consolidation, consumer debt collection practices, on-line debt collection and consolidation laws. If you do not have extensive legal expertise in ALL of the above, then you most likely would not be the right fit. Thank You!
