I need someone to represent my modest British company in the Small Claims/ or Mediation court to claim money from a client who owes my company around £700 + £70 in MCOL fees and late fees. Location and date to be confirmed. Currently we are at the stage when the defendant needs to send the Directions Questionnaire. A reminder should have been sent to him on 23rd Feb but MCOL is under-staffed so this should happen this week and then the defendant has another 7 days to respond stating his preference for either mediation or small claims court. We have all the paperwork to prove that this person owes us the money. Job start date is an approximate date. We are waiting to hear from MCOL. Please can you bid based on your total cost to do this and past experience. Many thanks

Hello. I work in conjunction with a Florida attorney who has been hired by a major construction equipment rental company. There are contractors in Maryland who have not paid for their rental charges and as you know, to enforce a mechanic's lien in the state, there must be the filing of a Petition to Establish and Enforce the Mechanic's Lien, as opposed to simply filing the mechanics lien in the recorder's office. Unlike a contractors claim which is usually right with defenses such as untimeliness, defective workmanship, non-code compliance, change orders, and the like, these cases are essentially defenseless. It is simply a collection effort. The rental company will probably have a couple of these a month, plus or minus, and we need a Maryland licensed attorney to file and prosecute the actions. I have a law degree and I can actually prepare the paperwork for your review to save you costs. You don't have to be an expert in the field, but simply have some familiarity with the process...
