For an English learning website we gathering examples of the usage of all English words (30 - 50,000). We have a large database of text from which existing sentences can be selected. For every word you are shown a large list of sentences, from which you should select those that are: - Interesting or funny. - Cover all the most common usages of the word - Illustrate the usage of the word well (if a user understand the whole sentence except for the current word, could you guess the meaning from it?) - Not containing too much extraneous information. You can shorten or rewrite the sentence down for this purpose. - Any names of persons that appear in the texts should be replaced with pronouns ("Emma ate lunch" becomes "She ate lunch") Sentences are sorted in order of difficulty; simpler sentences are preferred.
