We want to build an Android service that runs a small python webserver. The webserver serves a single webpage, which calls a single jquery "get" back to the python server. The single API takes as input a block of text (from a textarea field) and sends back a structured representation of it, which is then displayed on the webpage. The flow is to start the service on android (through any method you like), then open the Chrome app, point to the local server and display the webpage. All webpages and python scripts are written and tested on a linux environment. We just need it ported to Android. This is for demo only, not a production app, so we just need it to work: only the webpage itself has to be pretty. Finally, it has to work completely without network access. The python script has these imports: import CGIHTTPServer import sys, json, os, urllib from android.sentence import Tokenizer The first 2 lines are all contained in the standard python 2.7 package. We will provide...

I need detailed instructions on getting a USB touch screen working on a BeagleBone Black running Debian and LXDE. The touch screen reports as an eGalax device (0eef:0001). The BeagleBone is running a pre-built Debian image with no modifications: BBB-eMMC-flasher-debian-7.5-2014-05-14-2gb.img My development system and capabilities: I recently set up a Debian PC development platform in VMware. I can cross-compile to the BeagleBone and have written several C++ apps in Eclipse and Qt and they run on the BeagleBone. I am normally an embedded and Windows programmer, so it took a lot of research to get to this point (I'm no Linux expert by a long shot). I have attempted a kernel rebuild enabling the eGalax driver, and I believe I ended up with a valid zImage file, but it's untested, and I'm unsure how to deploy it to the BeagleBone. I'm also not sure that a kernel rebuild is necessary, but it's looking that way to me. So, I need help in determining if I'm on the correct path with the k...
