We require an implementation of socket.io ( [obscured] ) to monitor changes in a PostgreSQL database. This assignment has two parts: Client implementation - You'll develop a simple client-side app in HTML, jquery, etc. and use the socket.io library to subscribe to different "namespaces" and "rooms". You should show this working by updating the client in some rudimentary way. Server implementation: This is the meat of the project. You'll be implementing the socket.io backend using node.js and creating a variety of rooms and namespaces that can be subscribed to. You'll need to have at least two variants, one that checks a PostgreSQL SQL query with arguments and checks for changes, and one that checks a PostgreSQL stored procedure/function with arguments and checks for changes.
