I need a powershell script that I can schedule in a windows XP/7/8 task scheduler to automate backups from my ftp server. The backup needs to be stored in a specific directory something like this: C:\backup\YYYYMMDD\ And I need to keep at least 5 latest backups. And remove any old backups. I already have Winscp script as follows. I am able to run this from the winscp console. option batch on option confirm off synchronize -filemask="|*.jpg;*.gif" local c:\backup\ /root exit The purpose of the powershell script is to set it one time and forget about it and the backups happen automatically based on the time interval set in the task scheduler. You will also guide me on how to set this up as well. I kind of know already. There are ftp backup software that already do this and they cost about $30. I am looking at this simple script as a lower cost solution. If you are a poweshell expert, you should be able to do this within an hour.
