I own a small business that provides professional services. The work I do is generally flat fee or billed at time and expense. On some of the work, I have multiple parties contributing to the final fee. For example, P1 may generate 2 hours of time on a project and I pay P1 60% of what they bill. P2 may generate 1 hour of work and I pay P2 65% of what he bills. If I bill time, I bill at 100% of the rate. I then take all of their time and generate a final invoice for my company's time. I currently use Quickbooks online, but I know I am only scratching the surface of its functionality. Others in the industry use purchase orders to do similar projects.
