We have a Filemaker database, something begun in 3, and updated a few times over the years. At the present time there are 5 people using the database, all of us using Macs and most of us are using filemaker 11. We need some help with a few things and so, let me give you a short idea of what we're thinking: We sell chewing gum and a few other items via distributors, retail stores, and the internet 80% of our sales are with distributors, 10% with retail and 10% online. We use our database to keep track of invoicing and payments for distributors and retail, but not online sales. We then manually transfer the bookkeeping info to our accounting program. At the present time this is MYOB. We also use the database as our primary rolodex, keeping track of all kinds of contacts, not just sales contacts. Increasingly, we are using our database to mine information to help us keep up with trends within our company. We also use it to keep track of call backs, discounts, brokers and things of th...

We want to have a plugin for a online bookkeeping service built. The service is supposed to be able to keep track of recurring payments and send out invoices through the API at the service. The application only provides a slow SOAP-api. The service needs to be reachable online and be very easy to use. This means that we need three core modules built: 1) a front-end in HTML/CSS and some server-side language 2) a connector to the API at the bookkeeping site 3) a behindlying worker that always checks if it should send out invoices (as I have recieved requests from people wanting to make CRON-jobs - just to clarify - cronjobs are not an acceptable way of doing this. It has to be a queue). Also you need to be able to setup a AWS (or Azure or equivalent) environment as efficient as possible. We do not have any prefered database or programmin language - whatever you think is the best can work for us. It is crucial that the application is easily scalable - we will hopefully start with one...

Hello to All, I work for three partners who run their company in a very messy way. I am currently working on schedule and organization, so I am spending my days and nights trying to solidify the foundations. One step at a time, and working my way up. After a few weeks, when we could see a little bit better, I intend to hire an assistant that I could form one task at the time, so he/she could do the tasks every day. That way, I will have more time to concentrate on more important issues, and try to expand the business. What I do is not very complicated. it involves Excel, Word, PDF, Emails, Craigslist, Bookkeeping, and some research on Internet. With the right guidance, if you are smarter than the average and not lazy, you could definitely fit the profile. However, I am not looking to hire someone today. Our company is too messy. We need to clean first. Otherwise, the assistant will not understand much. At the same time I am reorganizing things within our office, I intend to look at...
